This article highlights the presentation made by Richard Martin, marketing manager of the Mersey Docks and Harbor Co., which was sponsored by the Merseyside and Warrington branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. The meeting was attended by some 70 people, which included members of the national institute. He gave a very well-balanced and information presentation about the facilities and traffic at the Port of Liverpool, with particular emphasis on the roll-on/roll-off facilities presently in existence at the port and those protected for the future. Additional coverage was given to the rail facilities in and out of the port, which covered not only the bulk handling activities within the port but also the container freight traffic destined for elsewhere in Great Britain and Europe.
