ABSTRACT
This article reports that the Institute of Logistics and Transport's Annual Awards ceremony for the year 2000 took place at a dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, England on October 31, 2000. The winners were presented with their awards by representatives of the sponsors in the presence of a large audience of finalists, sponsors, members and guests. The Young Manager of the Year Award went to David Britti. The Freight Transport Award went to the Parcelforce Worldwide company. The Award for Manufacturing Logistics went to the Rolls-Royce plc. The Award for Storage and Handling of Materials went to the Woolworths plc. The Award for Public Planning of Transport went to the Ove Arup and Partners company. The Passenger Transport Award went to the Merseytravel company. The Logistics and Transport Journalist of the Year Award went to Ian Onions. The Sir Robert Lawrence Award went to Kumar Bhattacharyya. The Award for Information, Communication and/or E-Commerce in the Supply Chain went to the Logistics Training International company. The Award for Environmental Best Practice in Logistics and Transport went to the Manchester Airport. The Logistics Excellence Award went to the John and Johnson Medical company.
