ABSTRACT
This article highlights the Council for Logistics Management Conference 2000, which was held during the last quarter of 2000 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The theme of this year's conference was to understand the impact of the Internet on logistics. Through the author's selection and attendance at track sessions and three plenaries, he tried to piece together some generalizations and learnings. He found out that electronic business is inclusive and will co-exist with other channels and media, and, over time, assume its share based on the value proposition that it offers. There is no such thing as the new economy against the old, it is more about the economy changing to embrace and integrate the new technology. The World Wide Web is a means for moving data and information and the derivation of knowledge and wisdom is the key to its successful application.
