ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the volume number four of the periodical "International Journal of Logistics." The journal concentrates on articles of an academic standard but aimed at the practitioner as much as the academic. All the articles published in the periodical are reviewed, on an anonymous basis, by at least two leading authorities on logistics drawn from an international editorial advisory board of industrialists and academics. This ensures that the published articles are not only based on rigorous research and applications but also that they are written in an open and accessible way. Last year's volume three reflected the scope of logistics, including articles on materials handling, logistics operations of manufacturers and wholesalers, optimization of distributive logistics flows in multidivisional firms and the recruitment and retention of the multi-drop driver.
