ABSTRACT
This article focuses on how the Gifts in Kind UK, a charity founded in 1996, can help companies make good profits and manage to give surplus stock to hundreds of charities throughout Great Britain. The charity acts as an intermediary between companies with surplus stock and the many non-profit organizations that need the sort of goods that they can supply. The charities pay an annual fee to register and also pay a handling charge for each pack of goods they order. The charity needs the logistics community to help with free overflow or short-term storage, free collection of donations and delivery to its main warehouse in Accrington, cash donations, or information about companies that might have surplus stock to donate.
