ABSTRACT
This article reports that a partnership between an English shire county and two local bus operators has seen the Warwickshire County Council take delivery of four Mercedes-Benz Citaros, to be operated under contract by the Guide Friday of the Stratford-upon-Avon and the Johnsons Coaches of Henley-in-Arden. The four new buses will be used for a network of school and local bus services, designed to provide valuable links to rural communities and to maximize the utilization of the vehicles. While the core of the schedule for the Citaros is the provision of home-to-school transport, they will provide daytime, evening and weekend services throughout south and east Warwickshire. As part of the launch strategy, the county council is distributing leaflets to households in the areas being served by the buses.
