ABSTRACT
This article presents news related to various activities of the Institute of IT Training (IITT). IITT has drawn up the shortlist for entries for the year 2004 IT Training Awards, which will take place on February 2004 at Dorchester in London, England. Colin Steed, chief executive of the Institute, reveals how this year's entries showed that, despite the depression in the IT training market, organizations are carrying out some high-quality and innovative training solutions. IITT has launched a consulting division, IITT Consultancy Services, to offer advice on a number of management issues to accredited organizations. Some 25 organizations currently hold the Institute's prestigious Gold Standard Accreditation (GSA). GSA is the second level of recognition available in the IITT's Training Provider Accreditation Program. GSA focuses on evidencing the effective delivery skills of trainers and requires that each trainer used by the provider, whether permanent or contract, holds a valid certificate in training practice. Also, some advice are given for IITT members who want to embrace change to remain top of their professional services. INSET: Eight career must-do's for members.
