The IT training and e-learning industries have certainly motored on since the Learning Technologies event first opened its doors five years ago—there have been a number of ups and downs on the road to its coming of age. According to Don Taylor the conference chairman, learning and development professionals now play an important strategic role in business. This year, 35 speakers have been signed up to present theory presentations, panel discussions, case studies and meeting forums in the Learning Technologies 2004 conference which takes place at Kensington Olympia Two in London, England. The keynote speech this year will be given by Derek Bembry, training manager for Hewlett-Packard Co.'s Enterprise Systems Group in EMEA, specializing in field and sales professionals.
