ABSTRACT
This article reports that following the successful running of the pilot and fully accredited courses for the new Institute of Logistics and Transport (ILT) Level Three Certificate in Logistics and Transport and the ILT Level Three Higher Certificate in Logistics and Transport, the institute has listened and responded to center feedback and will merge the two qualifications into one from September 1, 2002. The merged qualification will take the name ILT Level Three Higher Certificate in Logistics and Transport and will comprise one core management unit and one optional technical unit. Examination and competence-based assessment methods will be available to candidates. This will allow flexibility of assessment according to the individual candidate's needs, prior knowledge and experience.
