ABSTRACT
This article highlights the meeting of the Scottish Policy Group of the Scottish branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. Jon Harris, director of policies of the institute, attended the meeting. Among the issues covered was the training for the Policy Practitioners' Toolkit. As with the rest of Great Britain, it is hoped that the CD-ROM will help strengthen relations between the institute's central office and local areas. The Transport and Environment Committee of the Scottish Executive has also announced an inquiry into the rail industry in Scotland. Unfortunately, the consultation period had a very short response time. The Scottish Policy Group did manage to respond to this, by referring to a previous submission from the policy group to a consultative document titled "Strategic Priorities for Scotland's Passenger Railway".
