ABSTRACT
This article reports that the Humber, England branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport held its annual dinner dance for 2002, which was attended by 140 members and guests. The principal guest was Graham A. Ewer, chief executive of the institute, who proposed the toast and spoke. Branch chairman Geoff Catterick, made two presentations, one to Ken Swallow to mark his retirement, and to Denis Dunn, retiring port director of Immingham and Grimsby. A raffle raised 710 pounds which is to be used to send a physically challenged person on a voyage on a Jubilee Sailing Trust Vessel this summer. The Humber branch has a very active committee and it has arranged a full program of events which include a visit to the Hull Street Life Center and preserved trawler, a visit to the Hull Street's submarium, and a number of presentations on aspects of logistics and transport.
