ABSTRACT
This article reports on activities sponsored by the South Yorkshire, England branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, as of May 2000. There were two meetings in February. Brian Keith spoke to the branch on infrastructure development, with particular emphasis on partnerships between the bus industry and local authorities and John Austin spoke on the link between transportation and the Internet. Keith Holden spoke at the March meeting on the similarities between the supply chain sector and bus operation as well as giving a guide to logistics for members from the road passenger transport industry. A visit was also made to the First Mainline's Olive Grove Garage in Sheffield, England, one of the most busiest bus garages in Great Britain.
