ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the career development of several members of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, as of May 2000. Simon Geere has been appointed as aviation general manager by the Luton Airport in London, England. He joins the airport from the BAA plc where was he most recently group strategy manager for the BAA Property group. Ken Young is the new managing director and owner of the Franchise Development Services Midland Ltd., a franchising consultancy in the franchised sector of the express parcels and courier industry. Peter Backhouse has been appointed managing director by the Ryder System Inc. of the company's transportation services operations in Great Britain and Germany. Andy Steele takes over the new role of operations director in the senior management team of the Christian Salvesen company's industrial division.
