ABSTRACT
This article reports that advertisers in Great Britain can now break with tradition and take their advertisements on the road with the advent of a scheme that will use the sides of trucks as giant moving poster sites. RoadAds, the company behind the initiative, has access to an initial fleet of 1,000 haulage vehicles that will carry the mobile advertisements. One option will be to target hauliers with cross-continental routes to promote European brands. The advertisements themselves, which can be up to 13.8 by 2.6 meters are made from a newly developed material, which is both weatherproof and color-fade resistant. This allows advertisements to be placed on both fixed and curtain-sided vehicles. The company aims to have a large proportion of its fleet on the road carrying advertising within 12 months.
