Economic development officials in Richmond, Indiana, have made an offer for the manufacturing and distribution operations of Osborn International, a producer of industrial brushes that has operated at its Hamilton Avenue plant in the city of Cleveland for a century. Osborn had announced that a decision had been made by parent Jason Inc. in Milwaukee to close the Cleveland plant by the end of next year as part of a cost-cutting move. Richmond is close to the exact geographic center of the Cleveland plant's customer base, said Jeff Power, Osborn International's vice president of organizational effectiveness.
