ABSTRACT
This article focuses on how the Policies Department and Professional Development Department of the Institute of Logistics and Transport are working closely together to identify topics and to provide realistically priced seminars and workshops to keep members up-to-date with new developments in logistics and transport. Some members will prefer to undertake structured courses for their career professional development. This article provides information on Web sites which a member can use for career development purposes. An institute mentoring service has been running as a pilot scheme in 2001, offering a service to members by members. This is just one of the programs being offered by the institute, along with lectures and branch events and participation in special interest groups.
