ABSTRACT
This article focuses on two separate events for career advisers which were held in England. Around 20 career advisers from the northwest attended an event at the Wigan and Leigh College. The purpose of the event was to give career advisers a better understanding of what working in logistics entails and to convince them that it is a career that should be recommended to students. The Institute of Logistics and Transport ran a similar event for career advisers. Over 40 career advisers from universities and career services for schools and colleges attended the event. The program covered careers in logistics and transport and featured presentations from Michael Lainas, Jo Green, and Lee Osborne. The institute recognizes that 'influencing the influencers', that is, the career advisers, is a key way of encouraging new entrants into the profession.
