ABSTRACT
This article reports that members of the Scottish branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport made an informative visit to Scotland's newest railfreight hub at Tillyflats in Grangemouth. The hub is the Scotland-based Malcolm's Logistics Services' first venture into rail. The terminal is on the site of the old Grangemouth Motive Power Depot and was established with the help of a freight facilities grant from the Scottish Executive. The twice-weekly train runs overnight to and from the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal at Crick, Northamptonshire, conveying Scottish exports such as spirits and glass, with some intermodal.
