ABSTRACT
This article reports on government policy-related developments pertaining to the business logistics and transportation industry of Great Britain, as of December 2001. The government announced its vision of the future of transportation via the rail system of London, England. On October 25, 2001 aviation minister David jamieson made a tour of four regional airports to encourage the public to keep flying, following the terrorist attacks in the U.S. which occurred on September 11, 2001, and to boost staff morale in the aviation industry. On October 24, 2001, transport secretary Stephen Byers has appointed Richard Bowker as the new chairman of the Strategic Rail Authority to lead the modernization of the rail network in the country.
