ABSTRACT
This article reports on legislation-related developments pertaining to the business logistics and transportation industry of Great Britain, as of December 2001. November 19, 2001 was the House of Commons TLR Transport Subcommittee deadline for submissions to its inquiry into the aviation industry following on from the events that occurred on September 11, 2001 and the negative effects on aviation. The subcommittee considered the implications of the terrorist attacks and the responses to those events by the industry, regulators and government. On October 26, 2001, the Transport Subcommittee of the Transport, Local Government and the Regions Committee decided that the scope of the inquiry into the Passenger Rail Franchising should be extended.
