ABSTRACT
The Lancashire & Cumbria Branch of the Institute of Logistics and Transport has reiterated its commitment to support and promote all members' interests, projects and ideas without any basis or a preconceived agenda. This re-affirmation came about in response to a published paper on a strategy for the future of transport in England's Lake District. One initiative mentioned was Cedric Martindale's project to reopen the Penrith-to-Keswick stretch of the Cockermouth, Keswick-Penrith Railway, which was closed in 1972. The Committee wholeheartedly supports the future of transport in the Lake District and hopes to organize an additional event on the subject at a venue in Keswick, England.
