ABSTRACT
The Institute of Logistics and Transport is supporting two key transport policy events in the spring of 2002, which will be held in London, England. Aimed at meeting the strategic needs of professionals involved in the transport sectors, the institute is now working with the Center for Transport Policy on two one-day conferences. By tackling major issues within the transport scene, it is expected that the relationship with the Center for Transport Policy can be developed to provide further opportunities for institute members. The conference which will be held on April 23, 2002 will consider the merits of each regulatory mechanism in seeking to turn around the long-term decline in ridership without sacrificing the bus' crucial role in excluding social exclusion. The conference which will be held on May 23, 2002 will look at the macro-issues concerning congestion charging introduction in Great Britain.
