This article presents tips on how a professional in the field of business logistics can make covering letters work for his or her personal career management and development initiative. The components of the cover letter are the return address, data, employer's address, salutation, heading, body and closing. It is important to be reminded to first impressions count. The letter should be clear and well presented. Some companies may base their initial selection process on the content of the covering letter, so the letter must entice the reader to take the extra few minutes to consider the prospect when faced with all of the other applications. The contents of the covering letter were discussed in detail.
