ABSTRACT
This article provides information on a three-year flagship master of science degree in logistics or passenger transport management which was launched jointly by the Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Aston University in 1988 to address key strategic issues in these two areas. The course is now in its fourth year and has over 65 students at various stages. The first entrants are currently working on the final stage of the course. They should be finished by September 2001, with graduation in July 2002. These postgraduate degrees are offered by distance learning, giving students the flexibility to combine work and study at the same time. Entry to the master of science degree is by a relevant honors degree. For those who do not hold any appropriate formal qualifications, but have worked in various related fields for many years, entry can be gained by successfully completing the three-month access course run by the institute.
