ABSTRACT
The Packeteer Inc. in Great Britain has released its PacketShaper 8500 series, a gigabit Ethernet-based system that provides application-intelligent bandwidth management at speeds of 155 megabytes-per-second and higher. The system is designed to address the performance, capacity and availability needs of high bandwidth environments, such as hosting centers, data centers and corporate networks. It supports copper and fiber gigabit Ethernet interfaces and accommodates future needs with two externally accessed expansion slots for added gigabit and Ethernet ports of feature cards.
