ABSTRACT
The British Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions has published the bulletin "Transport Statistics for London 1999." The bulletin's figures show that increasing numbers of people are choosing to use public transport to travel in and out of London, England. An extra 4% of people are now using public transport to travel into central London on a typical weekday during the morning peak. The number of people entering central London by car each weekday has decreased by 2%. The distance travelled by passengers on the Underground throughout London increased by 4%.
