ABSTRACT
A year after the introduction of the 'right to interest' legislation in Great Britain which was designed to speed up payment of bills, companies are taking even longer to pay their invoices. A survey of over 150,000 companies by Experian indicated that even improvements in the economy and a growing trend towards Internet-based purchasing systems are having little effect on the speed with which companies pay their bill.s The average payment time across all industries has risen by one day in the last year to 59 days, while large companies are taking 74 days on average.
