ABSTRACT
The British International Freight Association has warned its members not to ignore regulations requiring companies who consign, transport, load and unload dangerous goods to appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor. Under the rules which came into effect on January 1, 2000, companies consigning and transporting dangerous goods without an advisor is acting illegally. The legislation applies especially to manufacturers and shippers, as well as intermediaries such as freight forwarders and transport companies.
