ABSTRACT
There are ten key things that every business needs to know about their competitors in order to build and/or maintain competitive edge. First is to determine the reason competitors exist. Second is where competitors add 'will-pay-for' value for customers. Third is which customers are of most interesting to competitors. Fourth is competitors' cost base and liquidity. Fifth is whether competitors are less exposed with their suppliers. Sixth is what competitors intend to do in the future. Seventh is how competitors' activity will affect a company's strategies.
