Canon has launched two new CCD-based flatbed scanners in the 2400x4800 dpi range, namely the CanoScan 5000F and the CanoScan 8000F. With 48 bit internal and external color depth, USB 2.0 High Speed, and with the inclusion of improved Film Adapter Units, both scanners are aimed at high resolution scanning of both documents and film. The integrated Film Adapter Unit is an element which adds both quality and speed to the scanners and allows for continuous scanning of frames of 35-mm film. The scanners enhance usability with 'EZ' buttons for simple one-touch copying, scanning, filing and e-mailing. These easy-to-use buttons in combination with the CanoScan Toolbox software make scanner operation easier by reducing the number of steps required to perform common tasks.
