ABSTRACT
This article discusses the response of the Czech railroad service Czech Railways regarding the developments in the local transportation sector. Historically, in the Czech Republic, under the central command of the economy, there had been high volume of goods being carried by rail. But with the politics of the region, the industries suffered with the demise of communism. Reform came with the independence of the country in 1992. To position itself strategically and move into the private sector. With rapid industrialization, middle class consumers begin to purchase cars. The government policy towards the transportation sector, as well as issues regarding accessibility and global compliance are discussed.
