ABSTRACT
Capturing the mood of realism was Alan G. Waller, Senior Logistics Partner of PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Chairman of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. He revisited a presentation he had made at the same event nine years previously. Just as the advent of the euro is supposed to presage great changes in European trade and supply, so in 1992 the imminence of the Single European Market occurred. The 1992 project was going to mean the liberalization of transport and of frontier control, the removal of quotas and licensing, harmonization of standards and of company law.
