ABSTRACT
The Institute of Logistics and Transport in England has gathered feedback about the organization's progress in its first year. Since much of the internal integration activity has been completed, the author called for a shift towards an external agenda. The challenge for members is to be involved in aiming for the right balance, not only between the wide professional interest areas they embrace, but also in creating the right style and approach for a modern institute that is relevant to the needs but which recognizes the heritage of the founding organizations. The author also mentioned the need for a focus on special interests which reflect areas of expertise within the institute's membership.
