ABSTRACT
The role of logistics professional was emphasized. Through a mixture of education, training and experience they are fully capable of managing and manipulating most or all of the elements on an ongoing basis. There are an increasing number of female logisticians in what has been, traditionally, a male dominated profession, understands how the variables interact within the chain. Most major logistic roles are high profile. Because of the extraordinary growth over the past few years in logistics technology, coupled with the desire to improve customer experienced in most areas of the supply-chain. In the broadest sense, a competent performer should be able to shave at least 5-10% of the historical overall supply-chain costs and improve delivery performance at the same time. Broadly, supply-chain cost will range from anything between 10% and 50% of total variable overheads for an average organization.
