ABSTRACT
The issuance of a certificate of exemption for dangerous goods by the Great Britain Health and Safety Executive allows the operator of a road vehicle which is being used for the carriage of dangerous goods in packages to be exempt from the requirement to display any danger sign or subsidiary hazard sign on the swap body. Existing policies require vehicles to display an orange-colored panel at front and rear during carriage of dangerous goods in packages. The exemption does not apply when swap bodies are removed from the road vehicle and are transferred between rail or road modes.
