Credit card extended warranties and electronics: How a little extra hassle can save lots of money

The author shares his experience in availing the built-in warranty coverage offered by major credit cards for various purchases, including electronics. He mentions the out-of-warranty repair needed for his Microsoft Surface Pro 3, which would have cost him $320. He narrates the process of claiming such benefit from a credit card provider. Problems in dealing with the procedure of device makers and retailers for credit card warranty claims are also discussed.
