Many organizations have moved up a gear to second generation electronic-learning. Deloitte Consulting LLC introduced the technology in 1999 to cope with major changes in its industry. Its solution was an electronic-business certification programme made up of 28 hours of asynchronous electronic-learning and 12 hours of classroom workshops. B&Q PLC is another user of electronic learning. Its DIY store staff are totally different to international consultants and office-equipment salespeople, but electronic-learning is now a major plank in B&Q's training provision.
