ABSTRACT
It has taken more than 15 years to complete the $274-million Walt Disney Concert Hall, a collection of shimmering silver petals that is quintessential Frank O. Gehry architecture. The project's long history reads like a Hollywood drama, with budget busts, fits, stops, restarts, cast changes and rewrites. But it also is a success story about the use of high technology in design and construction, never before seen on this scale in the U.S.
