ABSTRACT
Mixture of life distributions occur when two different causes of failure are present. The aim of this paper is to introduce a method of mixing model of exponentiated Weibull and exponentiated exponential (EWEE) distributions. The mixture model has a number of parameters which include shape and scale parameters in addition to the mixing parameter. The statistical properties of the model are discussed. The maximum likelihood method of estimation is used for estimating the parameters of the model under type I censored samples for different sample sizes. The elements of Fisher information matrix are derived to obtain the asymptotic variance-covariance matrix of likelihood estimates. Moreover, a numerical illustration through Monte Carlo simulation study is done.
