ABSTRACT
The trend among home furnishing suppliers and retailers to put the whole home furnishings market together may have both negative and positive effects on the home textiles marketplace. The trend started when Robb & Stucky has introduced a full hometextiles/tabletop/accessories product categories. Robb & Stucky's move influenced many of the home furnishings programs that are licensed to efforts to join the total home market. The trend also resulted in the entry of furniture stores picking up home textiles products such as the Tuscany program at Drexel Heritage and Tommy Bahama at Lexington. On the other hand, the entry of other sectors in the home textiles market may also enhance competition in the market.
