The article presents news briefs on marketing as of April 1996. The Hispanic market has grown into a $235.1 billion-a-year spending machine, according to the Packaged Facts report The Hispanic Market. Hispanics consume more media than non-Hispanics, watching nearly 36 hours of television a week. The 1996 Latin American Market Report was recently released by Miami, Florida-based Strategy Research Corp. The report estimates household buying power by socioeconomic strata for Latin America. In January, Standard Rate and Data Service began publishing a regular section on Latin American broadcasting in its SRDS TV & Cable Service. Facsimile communications topped the list of the most annoying advertising media in a survey of more than 900 business and government decision makers conducted by Penton Research Services. The same report How Business and Government Buyers Get Information also reveals that more than half of all sales call are initiated by the buyer. The Big Business Database covering more than 100,000 public and private companies worldwide, is a joint Internet project of Disclosure Inc. and American Business Information Inc.
