ABSTRACT
Superstore retailer Linens 'n Things has enjoyed a double-digit increase in sales in the third quarter of 2003. The firm's profits increased to $21 million from $18.3 million of the same quarter in 2002. Same-store sales was also improved during the period. The figures showed that the firm earned more than twice as much in the third quarter as it had during the first two previous quarters. Its plans for the fourth quarter include new brands and offerings for its textiles business, particularly the bedding and window treatment product categories. Company chief financial officer William Giles announced that Lines 'n Things aim to improve the quality of its textile offerings and introduce new brands.
