The Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold owns an important musical collection which features performance materials of the court theatre (1825-1875) and corresponding theatre files. The article describes the collections and explains the contextual deeper indexing with the new data standards MEI and TEI that has been tested since 2014. The challenge for this new way of indexing is connecting contents of source descriptions within the metadata with processed digital contents using incipits, and linking the recording of different source types (performance materials and files).
