The article focuses on the so-called Google-as-your-doctor phenomenon in India. It mentions the tendency of the youth with smartphones to use the Google Internet search engine for the self-diagnosis of their health symptoms, the dangers arising from self-diagnosis and self-medication including misdiagnosis, greater worries and denial of symptoms, and the importance for patients to educate themselves about their health while following the advice of experts.
