Explains the preparation procedures of the Commodity Price Index by the U.S. Dept. of Labor with reference to the annual bulletin on wholesale price published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics as of March 1933. Account of changes that were made in the grouping of commodities; Factors considered while constructing the index numbers and obtaining index numbers for individual commodities; Need and Importance of a method that would allow for variations in the number and importance for the commodities.
