Next month's WOLCE conference promises to give delegates the business reasons for investing in training. WOLCE 2003 will again take centre stage at Birmingham, England's NEC and it has incorporated Training Solutions 2003 into the event. "There is now one generic training event for the whole industry, which is a major draw," claims Jim Reilly, group sales manager for WOLCE. Venture believes the second major draw is the conference's emphasis on ways to convince company boards that they need to invest in staff development. The session will be chaired by Mark Cook, general manager of BBC Learning, and will draw on the experiences of Devoil and Kathleen Morris, European learning and development manager at PTC, of issues such as combating cultural perceptions of learning in work time. INSET: How to get to the show.
