ABSTRACT
University College Cork (UCC) has partnered with PeopleSoft Inc. in a bid to offer hands-on experience on its Business Information Systems (BIS) course. As part of the PeopleSoft On Campus programme, UCC will receive 2.1m euros worth of products and services to establish the BIS curricula as a global benchmark for PeopleSoft software. "We recognised there was a gap in what we teach students and what they need to be the best graduates available in IT," says Ciaran Murphy, the Bank of Ireland professor and director of business information systems at UCC. Murphy says UCC chose PeopleSoft because of its strength in the financial-services sector.
