ABSTRACT
This article aims to explain what alcoholism is, how does this process start, what are the disease's diagnoses and its implications in the field of Construction, the vulnerability of the alcoholic worker related to accidents risks, his work production and the preservation of his work contract, the importance of the work environment, occupational health and work safety in the organization as key factors to overcome and prevent the disease, explain how the alcoholism illness compromise the well being of the individual, the quality of the offered product and the strength of the company, how these effects reflect in other social segments, and allow workers and businessmen of the area to see and be aware of alcoholism as a social responsibility issue that requires effective curative and preventive solutions that promote sustainability, not only in this business area, but in the whole unified body of the society
