ABSTRACT
In the present study we sought to study aspects such as fear, suffering and occupational physical stress in sugarcane cut for production of biofuel ethanol in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. In the study we used the approach of the psychodynamics of work, and addressed issues related to pleasure and suffering of these workers. A systematic observation of the work was made using the ergonomic work analysis and applied postural analysis tool Win-OWAS to knowledge of the physical wear. From the results emerging issues related to grief and fear, within a few slices as production work, physical exhaustion and distrust. It was concluded that the suffering of these individuals at work is indeed present, mainly due to its gain be by production, and that the biomechanical loads exposes the worker to major physical wear.
