ABSTRACT
This article presents a response to the op-ed written by Roberto Zurbano in the "New York Times" regarding race relations and the conditions of blacks in Cuba. The author comments on an interview given by Zurbano in which he defends his article, citing the prevalence of racism in present-day Cuba. The history of blacks in Cuba, particularly during the 20th century, is also provided.
